The Basics – About me and this blog
Hello, I’m Lady Serina ( you might know me as Laura). Serina has been my on-line persona since the days of Quake2, in fact it was originally a character name of mine in Cyberpunk if i remember correctly. The Lady got added when i was accepted into the KoR UTCTF clan (Knights of Resurrection – Being knights they all had prefix’s to their names, and I became their first “Lady”)
I’m a divorced mother of two, with a broken brain. I am currently in the early stages of getting a full diagnosis as to what is wrong but the initial diagnosis is Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). I hope to elaborate on BPD further through this blog.
My children do not live with me, they live with their fathers. I have always been one to be different, so it’s quite fitting that there is the typical mother/father role reversal and I do still have a lot to do with them, of course I wouldn’t change them for the world.
I believe music, art, photographs and words are the key to the soul if it exists. They make you feel, and allow full expression of what is going on on the inside.
I have certain principles that I choose to live my life by, although cost plays a part in the ability to stick to them to a degree. I buy fair trade produce where possible, natural bath/shower and cosmetics (predominantly from Lush) and am a firm believer in Human Rights. I like nature, but I’m not what you would call an activist. (I like Top Gear too much for that!)
I’m also a bit of a geek if I’m honest – you probably already gathered that from the rambling about my name. I like Pc’s and on-line gaming and with good reason! I live with a Dutch Web Developer thanks to World of Warcraft, (Ladyserina; Level 70 Meat Shield, Bloodhoof . Drucilla; Level 70 Warlock, Bloodhoof
) although I stopped playing some time ago due to the vast amount of life lost to raiding seven days a week. Having said that it also gave me a new life with a wonderful man that I met through the game. Two years and we are still as strong as ever.
This weblog is predominantly for me, to track my moods and have a better understanding of myself. It’s also the perfect way for me to get my point of view across. I’m no good at talking, I hate doing it and I can never say what I mean. Typing is different. Most of what is written here regarding political issues or general observation is my own point of view and opinions.
Feel free to comment, even if you disagree but I must stipulate that I will delete any comments that are not constructive. I know the majority of people that will read it have enough brain cells to formulate criticism in an appropriate manor. There are always exceptions though. You would have thought people would have learnt by now that throwing insults around never achieves anything.
I think the only thing left to say is I hope that somewhere lurking in this blog (and the depths of my imagination) that there is something you may find interesting, funny and maybe even useful!

Dear Laura
I am working for a consultancy http://www.publicinnovation.org.uk and we are developing a website to help professionals improve the rates of alcohol related admissions in the South East (in some areas, very high). There is a high price paid by communities where hazardous drinking takes place in town centres at the weekend.
I was wondering if we could use the following photo on the website? The URL will be http://www.southeastalcohol.org.uk once the it’s up and running.

We would be most grateful.
